Recently, we have had an honor to host Professor Ignacio Moncada Iribarren, Head of the Urology Clinic at La Zarzuela University Hospital, in our Clinic.

His visit was a scientific and training meeting, during which Professor Moncada personally performed two demonstration robotic procedures assisted by the da Vinci robot: radical cystoprostatectomy with supravesical urinary diversion using the intracorporal technique and organ-sparing surgery to remove a kidney tumor.

Thanks to cooperation with the Urology Clinic in Madrid, our team’s doctors had the opportunity to receive training and acquire the knowledge necessary to perform this type of robotic surgery procedures. This is the next step in the development of the Urology Clinic of the University Hospital No. 2. Dr. Jan Biziel in Bydgoszcz.

Prof. Moncada is one of the most experienced urological authorities, including: in the field of robotics. He is a well-known and widely respected person internationally. Author of numerous publications, winner of many awards, member of the board of ESGURS, EMA, ESHA, ESU, AESS, member of the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the American Urological Association (AUA). He is one of the leaders not only in the field of robotic urology, but also in reconstructive and sexual urology in Spain and Europe. He was recently nominated for the most prestigious sexual urology award in the world – ESSM Career Award 2024.
